Job Accommodation Network definition
A service provided by the US Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), designed to assist employers to recruit and retain disabled workers. JAN provides a range of information including open opportunities, legal guidance, advice on starting a new business and guidance to help employers work more effectively with disabled people.
Since its inception in 1983, JAN has been located at West Virginia University. All assistance is provided in English and Spanish and is free of charge via telephone, email, chat and post.
