The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest association dedicated to human resource management, with around 260,000 members in more than 140 countries. The SHRM, which was founded in 1948, aims to provide a unified community for HR professionals and other stakeholders to innovate and share good practice, as well as advocate the concerns and needs of its stakeholders at the policy level.

The SHRM, originally founded as the American Society for Personnel Administration (ASPA), employs over 340 staff and has over 575 affiliated chapters around the world. Its headquarters are located in Alexandria, Virginia.
